Mughlai Dal

Ingredients:
- Tuvar dal or arhar dal (pigeon lentils): 3/4 cup
- Chana dal (split bengal gram): 1/4 cup
- Chopped lauki (bottle gourd): 1/4 cup
- Oil: 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter: 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds: 1/2 teaspoon
- Cinnamon stick: 1
- Dry red chili(sabut chili): 1
- Cardamom: 2
- Clove: 2
- Chopped onion: 3 tablespoon
- Chopped garlic: 1 & 1/2 teaspoon
- Bay leave: 1
- Chopped ginger; 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder: 1 & 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
- Dry coriander powder: 1/4 teaspoon
- Garam masala: 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice: 1 & 1/2 teaspoon
- Curd(yogurt)/ Fresh cream; 2 tablespoon
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing.

Preparation time:10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Preparation:
- Wash both dals properly and add salt, turmeric powder, lauki and 3 cup water and pressure cook for 2 whistle.
- Heat oil and butter together then add cumin seeds, bay leaves, whole red chilies, cardamom and clove.
- Sauté for few minutes and add garlic and chopped ginger. Cook till golden brown in color.
- Add onions, cook till onions are transparent. Add cooked dal, salt, red chili powder, dry coriander powder, garam masala and lemon juice and boil for 5 minutes.
- Beat curd/fresh cream properly and add in dal. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves.
