Buck wheat halwa

Ingredients :

  • Medium size dalia(buck wheat) : 1/2 cup
  • Milk : 1 & 1/2 cups
  • Ghee : 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Saffron stands :  4 to 5
  • Sugar : 1/4 cup depend on your taste
  • Cardamom powder : 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds and pistachios : 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Raisin : 5 pieces

Serves : 2
Cooking time : 20 minute

Preparation :

  • Heat ghee(clarified butter) in a pressure cooker, then add buck wheat and saute on medium heat until it changes to light golden color.
  • Add milk and pressure cook it until 3 whistles(15 minutes).
  • Remove from pressure cooker, add sugar, saffron stands, raisin and stir properly.
  • Cook this on slow flame until the mixture is semi thick.
  • Add cardamom powder, chopped almonds and pistachios.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with nuts.

Note :  Pressure cook is very easy and quick process. Soak almonds in hot water for 10 minutes, peel them and use it. Do not use big size buck wheat because it takes longer time to cook.
