Ragi pan cake & Papaya Salad

Benefits of Ragi (Millet) & Papaya :

Ingredients for 10-12 Pancake:

  • Ragi flour (millet) :  1 & 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated raw papaya for Salad :  1/2 cup
  • Grated raw mango for Salad : 3 table spoons (optional)
  • Chopped spring onion for Salad : 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped coriander leaves for Salad :  2 tablespoons
  • Chili powder or chopped chili for Salad : as per taste
  • Ginger garlic paste : 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil :  1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Yogurt : 2 table spoons
  • Sesame seeds :  1 teaspoon
  • Oil for roasting as per requirement
  • Water  for dough

Preparation time : 5 minutes 

Cooking time : 20 to 25 minutes

Instructions for Pancake:

  • Mix ragi flour, oil and all other ingredients in a bowl.
  • Add water and prepare soft dough from it. The dough should not be very soft because it will be difficult to roll.
  • No resting time is required for the dough.
  • Divide the dough in 12 balls. Sprinkle dry flour on the ball and roll thin round discs.
  • First roast both the sides of the dough, then apply oil one side and roast until little pink in color.
  • Flip and sprinkle oil on the other side and then roast for few seconds.
  • Continue the same process for remaining dough balls.
  • Serve with yogurt.

Instructions for Papaya Salad :

  • Add salt in grated papaya then remove excess water from it.
  • Add chili flakes or powder, lemon juice, sugar powder, coriander leaves and crushed roasted pea nuts in a bowl.
  • Salad is ready.
