Lotus Stem with Peanut Sauce

Ingredients :
- Lotus stem thin slices : 2 cups or 200 grams
- Corn flour : 2 & 1/2 table spoons
- Rice flour : 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Ginger paste : 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder : 1/2 Teaspoon
- Chat masala : 1/4 teaspoon
- Oil for frying
Ingredients for Sauce :
- Olive oil or Sesame oil : 1 table spoon
- Chopped red spice chili : 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey : 1/2 tablespoon
- Peanut butter : 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce : 1/2 teaspoon
- Roasted sesame seeds : 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
- Pepper powder : 1/4 teaspoon
- Chopped coriander leaves : 1/4 teaspoon
Serving : 2 to3
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 20 minutes
Preparation :
- Wash lotus stem properly and cut it into 1/2 cm thin slices.
- Mix corn flour, rice flour, ginger paste, chili powder, salt, chat masala and toss with lotus stem slices.
- Keep it on the side for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry all slices until crispy/golden brown in color.
- For the sauce heat oil in a pan, fry chili for few seconds, add peanut butter, honey, salt, pepper powder and soy sauce.
- Add fried lotus stem and stir the mixture properly.
- Remove from heat, garnish with sesame seeds and coriander leaves.
- Serve with lemon ginger cooler drink.
Note : You can serve fried lotus stem with separate peanut butter sauce.
