Green Paneer Softy (Cottage Cheese)

Ingredients for Marination:

  • Paneer: 200 grams
  • Hung curd: 1 cup
  • Basen(Bengal gram flour): 2 teaspoons
  • Olive oil: 2 teaspoons
  • Chat masala: 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic paste: 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger chili paste: 2 teaspoons
  • Green mint chutney: 3 tablespoons (choice)
  • Chopped coriander leaves: 1 teaspoon
  • Dry mint powder:1/4 teaspoon(optional
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped onion in square shape: 1/2 teaspoon

Miscellaneous Ingredients:

  • Aluminium foil: 1
  • Oil to sauté paneer: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Chili flakes for garnishing

Serves: 2
Time for marination: 20 minutes.
Cooking time: 5 minutes

Preparation:

  • Sauté besan in a cooking pan without oil for 2 minutes.
  • Mix all marination ingredients in bowl and add paneer cubes.
  • Cover all paneer cube with marination and leave it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes sauté paneer with marination for 5 minutes and turn off heat.
  • Cut aluminum foil into square peice. Pour paneer mixture in the foil and fold it and cover paneer cubes completely.
  • Make a small hole on top so that the steam escapes from it. Steam this foil for 5 minutes so that the paneer becomes soft.
  • Garnish with chilli flakes.
