Almond Puri

Ingredients:

  • Powder sugar: 1 cup
  • Almond powder: 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Saffron strands: 6 pieces
  • Milk: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons( as per requirement )
  • Milk to soak saffron: 1 teaspoon
  • Plastic sheet for rolling: 1
  • Wax paper for oven tray
  • Almond chopped in two parts vertically for garnishing: 12 pieces

Serves: 12 medium size puris
Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 7 minutes

Preparation:

  • Soak saffron in 1 teaspoon of milk in a bowl.
  • Take almond powder, add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Add saffron milk and make dough. Add milk as required.
  • Be careful to add sufficient milk to make dough similar to paratha dough. Roll the dough into thick roll.
  • Shape it the way you like it or roll small discs. Garnish with almond. Preheat oven to 150 degree.
  • Keep the wax paper in baking tray and arrange all puries and bake it on 150 degrees for 7 minutes.
  • When it cools down store it in a container.
