Almond Puri (Sweet)

Ingredients:

  • Almond paste: 2 tablespoon
  • Refine flour (maida): 3/4 cup
  • Suji (semolina): 1/4 cup
  • Ghee: 2 tablespoon
  • Milk as per requirement
  • Saffron: 6 strings
  • Sugar: 1 cup
  • Water
  • Ghee for frying
  • Cardamom powder: pinch
  • Finely chopped almond: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped pistachios: 1/2 teaspoon

Serves: 10 pieces
Time: 20 minutes

Preparation:

  • Soak 10 almonds in luke warm  milk (approximately 4 teaspoon) for 5 minutes, then remove skin and make smooth paste.
  • Add 2 tablespoon ghee (clarified butter) in this paste. Mix both flours and make dough with almond paste and milk.
  • Make smooth dough and let it for rest for 10 minutes. Make10 thin flat discs from the dough.
  • Add water in sugar till sugar is completely covered and keep boiling till two tar(thread) sugar syrup is ready. Let it cool.
  • Now fry discs and dip it in sugar syrup for 2 hours. Dry for 4 hours and then garnish with chopped almonds, pistachio and cardamom powder.

Note: Can serve with Ice cream or Rabri (indian sweet).
