Banana Chips with Papaya Salad

Ingredients for Banana Chips:

  • Medium size raw banana: 2
  • Rice flour: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt
  • Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder: pinch
  • Dry mango powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil for frying
  • Chopped curry leaves(optional)

Ingredients for papaya salad:

  • Grated raw papaya: 1 & 1/2 cups
  • Fresh grated coconut
  • Roasted and roughly crushed peanuts: 2 teaspoons
  • Chopped capsicum: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili sauce: 1 teaspoon
  • Vinegar or lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped tomato: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves: 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves and roasted peanut for garnishing

Serves: 10 to 12 pieces
Time: 20 minutes

Preparation for Banana chips:

  • In Rice flour add all dry spice powders and mix well.
  • Remove banana peel and grate long thin vertical slices.
  • Coat banana slices with dry mixture one by one and arrange horizontly and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Fry them till crispy. Let it cool.

Preparation for Salad:

  • Add salt into the grated papaya and leave it for few seconds.
  • Remove excess water from it. Add all ingredients and mix properly.
  • Take banana chips one by one and arrange salad on it properly.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves, peanuts and serve immediately.
