Black Dal

Ingredients:
- Masoor dal
- 1 tsp Butter and oil
- 2-3 Bay leaves
- 1 whole red chilli
- Asafoetida
- 1/2 Chopped onions
- Chopped ginger
- Chopped Tomato or purée
- Chilli powder
- Kitchen king masala
- Turmeric
- Dhania powder
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp cream or curd
- Add Kasuri methi
Recipe:
- Wash the masoor well and cook it in the cooker.
- Put 1 tsp butter and oil in a pan
- Put the bay leaves, whole red chilli, asafoetida.
- Add the chopped onions
- When onions turn light brown, add chopped ginger and stir well
- Add chopped tomato or purée and the cooked masoor
- Add 1/2 cup water, chilli powder, kitchen king masala, turmeric and dhania powder
- Boil for 5 minutes and add sugar and cream/curd
- Switch off the gas and add Katsuri methi
