Apple Modak

Ingredients :
- Apple: 1
- Sugar: 4 tablespoons
- Saffron strands: 4 to 5
- Raisins; 1 teaspoon
- Ghee(Clarified Butter) : 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
- Poha( Flattened/Beaten rice): 1/4 cup
- Semolina: 2 teaspoons
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Milk powder: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
- Roughly crushed almond: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Preparation:
- Take peeler and grate apple in a pan.
- Add 2 teaspoon sugar ,saffron and raisins and heat till mixture thickens.
- Take another pan and add 1 & 1/2 teaspoon ghee, when ghee is hot add poha and roast it for 5 minutes till pink.
- Add semolina in it and roast till it becomes light. Add 1/2 cup milk and stir continuously, then add 2 teaspoon of sugar in it.
- When mixture is little thick add apple mixture in it and stir properly.
- When mixture thickens remove from heat and add almond powder and saffron.
- Add milk powder after mixture completely cools.
- Mix all properly and use modak moulds to give shape.
- Serve in plate garnished with apple slices.
Note: One can use less ghee and without khoya so you can enjoy modak without worrying about getting fat.
