Chickpea(Chole) in Green Gravy……Subzi.

Ingredients for gravy:
- Fresh coriander leaves —– 1/2 cup
- Fresh mint leaves 1/4 cup
- Green chili —- 4 to 5 pieces
- Garlic pods —– 6
- Ginger — 1 half inch piece
- Yoghurt (curd) —- 1/4 cup
Ingredients for subzi:
- Boiled chickpea (chole) —— 1 1/2 cup
- Oil —1 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds —-1 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper —- 4 pieces
- Asafoetida —– pinch
- Dry red chili (sabut chili) 2 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Chopped onion —– 3 tablespoon
- Finely chopped spinach —– 2 cup
- Chopped onion ring for garnishing.
Serves: 4
Time: 20 min
Recipe:
- Add all gravy ingredients in blender and make smooth paste.
- Heat oil in pan, add cumin seeds,red chili and pepper.
- When cumin seeds crackles add asafoetida and onion.
- Sauté onion till properly cooked.Add chopped spinach ( palak )and cook for 5 min then add chole.
- Add salt and 3 teaspoon water.
- Remove from gas stove.Before 10 min to serve add gravy mixture and cook for 3 min. Garnish with onion rings.
