Rava Sheera

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • 1.5 cups Sooji (Rava)
  • Sliced Almonds, Raisins and Cashews
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cardamom (Elaichi) powder
  • 4-5 strands of saffron

Preparation Time : 20-25 minutes

Serves : 4

Recipe:

  • Add ghee in a pan and let it heat for ~2 minutes
  • Add Sooji and stir well for ~8 minutes on low flame
  • Add almonds and cashews and stir again
  • Heat 2 cups of water, add it to the pan and stir well
  • Add little sugar and close the pan with a lid. Let it stay for ~2 minutes
  • If the mixture appears to be too thick, add some hot milk
  • Add sugar and stir. Once the sugar gets absorbed, close the pan with the lid and let it steam out for ~5 minutes
  • Add cardamom and raisins
  • Add saffron to 1 tbsp milk and heat it in the microwave for ~5 seconds. Add it to the pan
  • Stir well and turn off the gas after ~1 minute
  • Let it stay for a few minutes with lid on
  • Serve and enjoy
