Alu Palak Subzi (Potato-Spinach Subzi)

Ingredients: (Serves – 2, Cooking Time: 20 minutes)

  • Palak puree—2 cup
  • Boiled and chopped potatoes—-2 medium size
  • Onion chopped –4 tablespoon
  • Green chili and ginger paste—-2 teaspoon
  • Tomato chopped–1 small size
  • Butter 1 teaspoon
  • Oil—1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cream—11/2 teaspoon ( for garnishing)
  • Bay leave–1
  • Cinnamon stick–1 small size
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic paste–1/4 teaspoon
  • Kasuri methi —-1/4 teaspoon

Recipe:

  • For palak puree: Add 1/4 teaspoon sugar while boiling spinach so that the color of spinach remain green.
  • Boil it for 5 min and remove from hot water and pour cold water.
  • Remove all water from palak, add tomato and make a paste.
  • Heat butter and oil in pan add bay leave and cinnamon stick.
  • Then add chopped onion and saute till onions are little brown. Add ginger chili paste and garlic paste.
  • Add boiled chopped potatoes and stir two min then add spinach puree and salt. Mix all things properly and add 1/2 teaspoon cream.Remove from heat and add 1/4 teaspoon kasuri methi.
  • Garnish with cream.
