Green Peas Nuggets(Kachori)

Ingredients For Stuffing:

  • Fresh green peas :    300 grams
  • Green chili paste :  2 teaspoons(based on spice level you want)
  • Oil : 2 teaspoons
  • ginger paste :  1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • lemon juice:   1 teaspoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves:  1/4 cup
  • Garam masala :  1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • fresh grated coconut:  1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Sugar:  1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Ingredients for outer cover:
  • Wheat flour :  2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil :  2 & 1/2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice:   1/2 teaspoon
  • Suji (samolina) : 2 teaspoons
  • Water
Serves: 10-12  pieces
Time:  25 to 30 minutes
Preparation:
  • First to prepare stuffing crush the green peas. They should not be finely crushed.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida, crushed green peas and salt.
  • Sauté it till properly cooked and the mixture turns a little dry. Do not let it dry completely.
  • Add rest of the stuffing ingredients in it, stir properly, remove from heat and let it cool.
  • Take wheat flour in a pan add oil , salt and mix properly.
  • Add lemon juice and slowly add water as required and make soft dough.
  • The dough should not be too soft or hard. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough in small balls, make small round discs, place the stuffing in center and give them the shape you like by enclosing the stuffing with dough.
  • Heat oil on slow flame and fry the stuffed dough discs on low flame until golden crispy.
  • You can eat it with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
