Baked Samosa

Ingredients For Outer layer:

  • Refine flour( maida): 1 & 1/2 cup
  • Rice flour: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil: 2 & 1/2 tablespoons
  • Baking powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice: 3 drops
  • Carom seeds: 1/4 teaspoon(ajvain)
  • Water as per requirement

Ingredients for Stuffing:

  • Chopped boiled french beans: 1/4 cup
  • Boiled green peas: 1/4 cup
  • Over night soaked and boiled mung: 1/4 cup
  • Cooked rice: 2 tablespoons(optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chili paste: 2 teaspoons
  • Garam masala: 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves: 3 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Chopped mint leaves: 1 tablespoon
  • Oil: 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Extra oil for brushing on samosa

Serves: 10 to12 small size samosa
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes

Preparation:

  • Mix all outer layer ingredients properly in a pan and slowly add water and prepare little hard dough.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes. Heat oil, add cumin seeds when it crackles add green chili paste and cook for few seconds.
  • Add french beans, boiled mung, boiled green peas and salt.
  • Sauté for few seconds then add cooked rice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and lemon juice.
  • Turn off heat and add mint leaves and coriander leaves. Let it cool. Roll discs from the dough.
  • Cut each disc in two halves. Take one and keep stuffing and apply little water on border and fold into triangle shapes. This way prepare all.
  • Apply oil on samosas with brush. Pre heat oven to 180 degree.
  • Keep all samosas in baking tray and bake them on 180 degree for 20 to 25 minutes till crispy.
  • Serve with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
