Peanut Modak

Ingredients:

  • Roasted peanuts:1 & 1/2 cup
  • Sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Decimated coconut: 3 tablespoons(Optional)
  • Milk powder: 2 tablespoon
  • Ghee or unsalted butter: 1 teaspoon
  • Water
  • Cardamom powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Roasted peanuts for garnishing
  • Modak Moulds(For Shape)

Serves: 10 pieces
Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Preparation:

  • Roast peanuts on a pan or any desired method and remove skin. Finely crush peanuts to powder.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add peanut powder and sauté for few seconds. Keep the mixture aside.
  • Heat 1/4 cup water and add sugar in a pan. Stir occasionally till sugar syrup is little thick (1 & 1/2 thread).
  • Add peanut powder ,coconut and cook till mixture leaves the border of pan. See to it the mixture is thick and not hard.
  • Let it cool to room temperature. Add cardamom powder and milk powder.
  • Mix all ingredients properly. Make 10 balls. Use moulds(see the image above) and keep one ball inside and prepare modak one by one.
  • Garnish with peanut.
