Sandwich Dhokla

Ingredients:

  • White dhokla atta or ready dosa batter: 250 grams
  • Curd (yogurt): 2 tablespoon
  • Chili ginger paste: 2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Baking Soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Oil: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chutney: 2 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ingredient for stuffing:
  • Boiled green peas: 100 grams
  • Chili ginger paste:11/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves:11/2 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida: pinch
  • Fresh grated coconut: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice: 1/2 teaspoon

Serves: 2 (Single Dinner Plate)
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Fermentation time: 5 hours
Cooking time: 25 minutes

Preparation:

  • Add luke warm water and curd in dhokla dough.
  • Mix it properly until the batter thickens, Keep it in warm place for 5 hours.
  • For stuffing heat the oil, add asefotida and half crushed green peas.
  • Sauté for 5 minutes. Add all ingredients and stir properly and remove from heat.
  • Let it cool for 5 minutes. After 5 hours dhokla batter will be ready so add baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon oil and beat properly.
  • Add chili ginger paste in it. Keep the water boilng and apply little oil in the plate and pour half batter then apply semi liquid green chutney on it.
  • Spread stuffing on it. Finally pour rest of dhokla batter and sprinkle red chili powder and steam atleast 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Then apply oil on ready dhokla and cut in dimond shape or small pieces and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with green chutney.

Note: For ready dosa batter directly add soda and prepare stuffing in same method .
