Bean Sprout Veggie

Ingredients:

  • Bean Sprouts : 200 grams
  • Onions : 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato : 1 finely chopped tomato
  • Garlic : 2 chopped cloves
  • Coriander powder : 1 & 1/2 teaspoons
  • Turmeric powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida powder : pinch
  • Red chili powder : 1/2 table spoon or as per your spice level
  • Cumin seeds : 1/2 spoon.
  • Salt : 1 table spoon or as per your taste
  • Cooking oil : 2-3 table spoons

Serves: 2

Cooking time : 40 minutes

Preparation:

  • Add oil in a cooking pan and heat on low flame.
  • Add asafoetida powder in the pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add chopped garlic in the pan and cook until brown in color.
  • Now you can add chopped onions and salt as per taste to the pan. Cook them until they turn transparent yellow in color.
  • Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and sauté for few minutes until soft.
  • Now add the bean sprouts to the pan and mix properly.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder to the pan and mix properly.
  • Make sure the spices mix properly with the bean sprout mixture in the cooking pan.
  • Add one or half cup of water to the cooking pan and cover the pan with a lid.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes on low flame.
  • Keep checking the mixture at regular intervals to avoid burning of vegetable due to loss of water.
  • Take the cooking pan off the heat and garnish your vegetable with chopped fenugreek if you want.
  • You can have this vegetable with rice or chapati.
